Unfortunately due to an error with our library upgrade last night we currently have no access to our library catalogue. We are attempting to sort out the problem but we are not sure how long it will take. We apologize to all our borrowers for any inconvenience this may cause.
We would just like to apologize to patrons who might have been unable to get onto the webopac this week. We were experiencing some difficulties with too may users accessing it at the one time. Hopefully this has now been sorted out and won’t cause any more problems.
Also the library is preparing for a major upgrade to our software today so there maybe some glitches or downtime throughout today and tonight.

The Inconvenient Child reveals the shocking true story of an Australian child’s struggle to survive childhood and find her African-American family, after a search spanning two continents and 48 years.
Sharyn Killens is a successful Australian singer and entertainer, but her life wasn’t always glamorous and her childhood was, at times, a living hell. This is the true account of her extraordinary journey to success and her quest to discover her identity.
Sharyn’s story is not all heartbreak and misery. It’s also a story of triumph, faith, success, and joy.

New knitters are more than welcome, and donations of wool are always appreciated!! Just contact Kempsey Library for all the details.

Last night, John Hockney spoke at length about the life and work of his older brother, acclaimed artist David Hockney. John incorporated various slides and pictures into his presentation to show many of David’s renowned works. Guests were also treated to wine and canapes before delving into some delicious soups. A big thank you to Virginia and helpers for putting on a great night and ensuring there were plenty of leftovers for today’s morning tea!

Last night (Thursday 5th November), the Friends of Port Macquarie Library hosted an evening with Di Morrissey. The prolific author spent time mingling with guests over drinks and nibbles, before giving a very interesting talk, fielding a slew of questions afterwards. Di was also kind enough to stay and sign copies of her new book ‘The Silent Country’. Thanks to the Friends for a wonderful evening.
