[ April 5, 2010 9:30 am to April 16, 2010 9:30 am. ] We have some wonderful activities at the Library during the Easter School Holidays: Cosplay @ Port – Sunday 11th April at Port Macquarie Library – dress up as your favourite Anima or Manga character Big Birthday Bash – Wednesday 14th April at Port Macquarie Library – decorate a library bag and make a badge Travelbugs – a travelling [...] We have noticed a huge interest in Bali from primary school students in the area. Most of the books the library owns are already out on loan, so we thought we’d provide some alternatives. Just a quick note to let all our patrons know that the Laurieton & Wauchope branches will be closed from 5pm on Christmas eve and will reopen on the Monday 4th of January 2010. Port Macquarie library will be closed on the 25th, 26th & 28th of December 2009 and the 1st of January 2010. Wishing [...] Well last Thursday saw Wauchope Library’s Book Club host their first ever Literary Lunch at the Traveller’s Rest Hotel, Long Flat. Guest speaker was none other than Derrick Hand, former NSW State Coroner and author of ‘The Coroner’. The day was a huge success, dust-free, and the book club are already whispering about their next literary lunch. [...] [ September 24, 2009; 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. ] Wauchope Book Club continues to grow in 2009. Attendees of the monthly meetings, held here at Wauchope Library, are now busily organising a Literary Lunch for the local community. They are fortunate enough to have secured a guest speaker in the former NSW State Coroner, author, and now recent Port Macquarie retiree, Derrick Hand. The event was a huge success, with people politely yet forcefully stomping on toes and elbowing each other in the face to get to the crisp new items.
