Last night, John Hockney spoke at length about the life and work of his older brother, acclaimed artist David Hockney. John incorporated various slides and pictures into his presentation to show many of David’s renowned works. Guests were also treated to wine and canapes before delving into some delicious soups. A big thank you to Virginia [...] Last night (Thursday 5th November), the Friends of Port Macquarie Library hosted an evening with Di Morrissey. The prolific author spent time mingling with guests over drinks and nibbles, before giving a very interesting talk, fielding a slew of questions afterwards. Di was also kind enough to stay and sign copies of her new book ‘The Silent [...] Our very own Amanda appeared in the Daily Telegraph yesterday (Tuesday 27th October 2009). It is with the greatest of pleasure that Port Macquarie Library is hosting a display of the most beautiful pictures from Huntingdon and Long Flat Schools as part of the Osmosis Exhibition. Thursday 12th November The artist’s early life and family Well last Thursday saw Wauchope Library’s Book Club host their first ever Literary Lunch at the Traveller’s Rest Hotel, Long Flat. Guest speaker was none other than Derrick Hand, former NSW State Coroner and author of ‘The Coroner’. The day was a huge success, dust-free, and the book club are already whispering about their next literary lunch.
